In case nobody told you, yesterday was the National Boyfriend Day! To get you feeling loved-up, we have prepared a list of top 3 romantic ads in 2017.

The following are just a few ads that attracted us and show how brands use emotions to connect with their targeted audience. Enjoy!

Samsung Galaxy Note 8, I Love You, 2017

Recently Samsung released a TV commercial for Galaxy Note 8 that highlights it’s Live Message feature and the S Pen. The ads featured a couple taking the big step of expressing their love for each other — via Live message which allows them to draw notes on text messages and pictures.

Of course, you may think there are million more romantic ways to express love than saying it via messages, but it seems to be a perfect feature for long distance relationship, or just even for couples simply want to spice up their relationship with the help of cute and loving messages.

Nevertheless, it is a heart-warming ads for sure — it brings back all the memories of the sticky sweet period of time at the beginning of a romance, where you can’t keep two people off each other.  Also, the commercial song ‘Similau (See-Me-Lo)’ by Peggy Lee for sure is the icing on the cake. Shout out to Samsung for bringing the classic back from 1949!

‘I love you.’

‘Prove it.’

The recent ad campaign, set to the Sia’s classic Chandelier, shows the award-winning actress Natalie Portman play a Miss Dior who is clearly in love — with all of the passion that brings. Portman performs a touching but fierce love story in the breathtaking ad.

Although you can hardly see the male character in the ad, you can easily feel the love from the scenes where they appear to enjoy a romantic getaway to the Eiffel Tower and the shot where they playing and enjoying each other company at the beach.

Skittles, Romance the rainbow, 2017

skittles-2.png

This year Skittles turns to a romance cliche that everybody loves — a lovestruck teen boy training to attract the attention of his girlfriend by throwing skittles (rocks) in the middle of a night. When the scene cut to the girl’s bedroom, it shows that the girl is making most of his persistence, and surprisingly her parents, and a few unexpected guests.

Undoubtedly this is an ad that would put a smile on your face. It is also a reminder for all the couple out there: Remember the time when you were willing to do whatever just to make your partner happy? When was the last time you did something to make your partner feel special?
